Though my name is not Zeke, I feel honored to give this name to my stands. Zeke was the nickname of my Wife's father (short for Zealey) who was a very special, wonderful person.

The real story behind the name began at an outdoor Keb' Mo' concert in our hometown of Portland Oregon. Between every song a guy in a black shirt brought out a different guitar for Keb', and on his shirt were large white letters that said "ZEKE". My lovely wife,
Stacy, turned to me and said, "I wish I had a Zeke". I told her, "I'll be your Zeke", and ever since then I have carried and tuned her guitar for her.

The original inspiration for the stand had to do with watching Stacy practice her music. She would spread all her song writing sheets out on the floor in front of her, or on a chair, and struggle to look at them while practicing. I thought there must be a better way, and was inspired to build a stand that would do more than just hold her music, or another that would just hold her guitar. By combining these functions I made it easier to pick up the guitar and play at any time, therefore it gets played much more often, and the pile of music gets organized into one place that is readily available. Over the years, and with the suggestions of many other musicians, the design was improved upon until it became what today I proudly call Zeke Stands for Guitars.
